You might not feel your best in those first few weeks, but to your baby you are everything.
These are the images that your grown- up child will cherish revisiting in 10, 20, or even 50 years. And however much you hate having your picture taken, you will all look back at when you were younger with fresh eyes. Grab a friend to take the pic or use the self timer if you have to!
For a portrait hold baby up really close -yes even closer than you usually would, right up near your face! Now you can photograph both of you without baby being lost in acres of clothing!
Siblings might take a while to warm to baby and might not be keen for the cuddly shots you would like. Be patient!
Let them meet on their own terms and curiosity will take over, then you can spy on the results!
Of course you also get the siblings who never want to let go of ‘their’ baby. Finding little useful tasks when they have to let go will help!
The best way photograph siblings together depends on their ages. Sit the big sibling(s) somewhere safe - the floor, a sofa or parents laps - before placing baby either next to them, on a cushion on their lap or in their arms.
