As the days slowly lengthen we start to look for signs of spring. So when is the best time for your London spring family photos? I’m going to share my images from the spring months here in West London to help you decide.
For me this seems like one of the most exciting times of the year as everything changes so quickly. Of course the weather changes quickly too and there will be some of those April showers as well as sunshine, but in case of heavy rain I will reschedule your session for another date.
February
In February winter is starting to fade as new life stirs under the ground. Crocus are one of my favourite flowers and I spend February waiting for them! The stark leafless trees can also lead to fantastic silhouette shots. If we are really lucky snow and ice is a fantastic backdrop.
March
In march we start to get some daffodils and cherry blossom, but the snow can still hit! I have been both sunburned and snowed on in March.
April
In April in a few select locations carpets of bluebells appear for a few short weeks. Everywhere is beginning to bring out new buds and bright green spring leaves cover the trees. It’s a great time for pictures in the woods before they become dark and shady.
May
In May spring is starting to turn into summer. The leaves are full and green and the meadows have wildflowers. This is a great month for photos especially for those like me who like to avoid the heat of summer.
